Why Use Models?

Many people think that with all the modern technology we have nowadays, we can rely 100 percent on computers. The truth is, the technology isn’t quite there yet. While computers and laptops today have a lot of computing power, they still need help and some thing are better to do manually. And frankly, computer models and simulations on screens just don’t do it. Today, many firms and companies still employ models. For example, map models are still common. Many types of firms use map models from architectural firms and even the military. Models are still quite useful in business.

For example, land and building developers still use model to show investors how a certain place will look like after it’s been developed. Many people stisl want to see models. In many cases, models are useful to test out new ideas. For example, when a company designs a new car, they won’t create an exact replica of the car yet. That would be expensive. Instead, they use models to try and refine the idea before spending a lot of money making a life-sized prototype. That way, they can make any changes to the design and it won’t cost a lot of money.
